Why an Emergency?
The speed of climate change is dangerously increasing, nearing a critical tipping point beyond which recovery becomes impossible. The consensus among the majority of climate scientists places this tipping point within the next decade. Inaction is no longer a viable option; it will lead us directly to this point, triggering uncontrollable climate chaos. The resulting devastation will include melting ice caps, mass species extinction, and an intensification of the extreme weather, flooding, and uninhabitable regions we are already witnessing.
Why Build Carbon Negative Eco Homes?
The UK's housing sector contributes a substantial 18% to the nation's CO2 emissions – a figure that will persist if conventional building standards remain unchanged. With over half of the UK's housing stock predating 1965 and only a small fraction built to more recent standards, even current regulations fail to eliminate carbon contributions from new homes. We believe this is unsustainable. This conviction drove the development of our EarthPositive™ concept: by constructing carbon-negative eco-homes, we can actively reduce the CO2 emissions of the UK's housing stock and counterbalance the impact of less efficient buildings. What might seem like a distant vision to some is, to us, simply a matter of common sense.
